Opening Drawings from the Cloud Storage

You can open the drawings from your Cloud Storage services using the Cloud, as well as the Desktop application. You can open drawings of type .dwg, .dxf, or .dwt.

To open a drawing from the Cloud Storage in the Desktop application:

  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the menu, click File > Open from Cloud.
    • On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Open from Cloud.
    • Click Application button > Open > Open from Cloud.
    • Right-click a drawing tab and select Open from Cloud.
    • On the ribbon, click Collaborate > Cloud Storage > Open from Cloud.
    • Type OpenFromCloudStorage.

    The Cloud Storage palette displays.

  2. On the Cloud Storage palette, select the Cloud Storage where the drawing is saved.

    Display the file filters and hide files that are not of interest from the file list.

  3. Navigate to the drawing to display.

    Use the Back  button to navigate one folder up within the path.

  4. Do one of the following:
    • Select a drawing file name and click Open .
    • Double-click a drawing file name.

    You can view or edit the drawing, according to your permissions. If the drawing contains external references, they are also loaded in the graphics area.

    Note: Drawings open in editing mode are automatically disconnected after 25 minutes of inactivity.

To open a drawing from the Cloud Storage in Cloud Application:

  1. Click File > Open (or type Open).
  2. In Files of type, select a file type.
  3. In Look in, navigate to your drawing.
  4. Select a drawing.
  5. The Preview area presents a thumbnail of the selected drawing, although not all file formats provide previews.
  6. Click Open to load the drawing or click Right arrow and click Open Read-Only to open the file without modifying it.
  7. If you try to save a read-only file, you need to save the file under another name.
  1. Click File > Open (or type Open).
  2. Select a drawing.
  3. Click Open to load the drawing or select Open Read-Only from the Open mode list to open the file without modifying it.
  4. If you try to save a read-only file, you need to save the file under another name.
